Our business practices are designed to be efficient and keep you in the centre; our follow-up is fast and where a report is required we aim to have the report completed and returned to you within just 2 weeks after our final assessment with you. If for some reason we cannot do this, we will let you know right away.

The appointment

During your appointment you, and your supports, if they are present will collaborate with your Occupational Therapist a personalized experience focused on improving your overall well-being and functional abilities. The therapist will begin by gathering information required for service of support, which may include a discussion of your medical history, diagnoses, supports and therapies that you may be using or have used in the past, current concerns, goals, home modification measurements, equipment trials and more. Once all information has been gathered, the therapist will then design a tailored report, treatment plan, etc incorporating various therapeutic techniques, exercises, recommendations and additional information based scope of service required. This outcome will vary for individuals.

If attending an on going therapy session these may be conducted by our Occupational Therapist (OT) and or our Allied Health Assistant (AHA). You will be supported to work on activities that enhance their daily living skills, such as mobility, fine motor skills, and cognitive functions, depending on your specific needs. Throughout the session, therapists will provide guidance, support, and education, aiming to empower you to regain independence and Amplify your quality of life. Additionally, open communication between the therapist and yourself is encouraged to ensure that the therapy process aligns with the individual's unique needs and preferences.

After the appointment

You can expect Our Person Centred Therapeutic approach throughout each stage of your Therapy journey. Whether it is just for an assessment, to gather additional information and receive a report, or it may be ongoing therapy sessions with our OT or AHA , our focus on you and helping you achieve your goals will be paramount. Following an Occupational Therapy appointment, you can expect a continuation of your therapeutic journey. You may experience a sense of accomplishment and progress, having worked on specific goals and tasks during the session. It's common to receive homework assignments or exercises to practice at home, reinforcing the skills and strategies introduced during the appointment. In ongoing sessions with a therapist, you will work with an OT or AHA following a therapy plan that has been developed to assist with continuation of your therapy and monitor your progress. Regular communication with the therapist is essential, as adjustments to the treatment plan and/ or assessment and report may be necessary based on the your progress and changing needs. Overall, the post-appointment period is a crucial part of the rehabilitation process, where individuals are encouraged to apply what they've learned and maintain their commitment to better health and well-being.

If you have had an assessment for a report your therapist will maintain contact with you, gathering additional information as required to assist with development of your report. Depending on the assessment, a draft copy of your report may be sent to you and your supports to look over and provide feedback as necessary. In order for our OT to make final adjustments we require this feedback promptly to maximise our timely turn arounds of the report back to you.
